Hello Fashion People! This is Nikoline.

Welcome to the Steezy Sustainability blog! This is a creative outlet to prove that you can be stylish as hell, while also being eco-friendly.

I am a well-seasoned fashionista, but a novice blogger. Encouraging creativity and funkiness has always been a passion of mine. It is the driving force of what I want to accomplish here– with a twist.

As we all know, the fashion industry is one of the leading contributors to trashing our earth. Additionally, the worlds of fashion and sustainability have built this weird conception that you need to be spendy. I am here to tell you: Cheaping out while also limiting your carbon footprint can still make you fashionable (if not more). Why waste your money on fast fashion trends that die faster than a fruit fly?

Let’s Get Personal…

Fashion has always been a form of self-expression for me. I am not the most outgoing person in the room. However, styling and wearing items that I find cute sparks confidence in me. So what if I appear quiet– at least I look cool! Having the ability to transform how you look through clothes is so powerful.

I am a Los Angeles native, but currently located in Eugene, Oregon. By the end of spring 2022, I will be graduated from the University of Oregon with a completed major in public relations and minors in philosophy and sociology. I feel uncertain with my post-graduation plans, but working a job related to fashion feels definite to me.

My Fashion Experience

Three years ago, I was a stylist for a popular Los Angeles-based clothing company called LF. It was an extremely cutthroat, intense environment. To those unfamiliar with the brand: LF’s demographic consists of affluent, young women with a love for street style. The prices of the clothes were excessively high to reinforce its prestige. Maintaining the company’s image/relevancy, relationship building with loyal/potential clients, AND running a business was a lot for six girls. The intensity taught me unforgettable lessons about the fashion realm. Not only was I a stylist, but a salesperson. This made me push the boundaries of fashion because I had to create outfits from clothes that did not particularly interest me. The expectation of doing this for work blossomed into an interest in creating outfits with pieces and accessories that most would overlook. However, styling and merchandising LF’s vintage pieces was always a favorite task of mine. Vintage tee’s and reworked vintage was the gateway into my passion for thrifting and secondhand shops.
